Math Games

The students love to play math games. It is a great way for them to practice their math addition facts. Today I used old Candy Land game boards and two dice so the students could practice addition in a fun way!

Friends

Good Friends come in all shapes and sizes.
This week we are talking about friendships. We have been reading several books on Friendships. We learned that everyone in our class is wonderful, but sometimes we make mistakes and have to say, "I'm Sorry."
You might ask your child what makes a good friend.

Mealworms

Mealworm
In Science we are learning about insects. The first insect we are studying is the Mealworm. Mealworms are the larva of beetles. Mealworms go through 4 life stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult beetle. The eat meal such as wheat meal, oat meal, or rye meal. The get their water through plants like potatoes and carrots. Mealworms burrow in their food and do not like light. Each student will get a habitat on his or her desk and is in charge of taking care of the mealworm. Usually, many children will even name their mealworms!

Making Progress

Dear Families,
I am making progress toward mobility. Mrs. Gallhager has been a great support and your children have been fabulous. I started the year in a cast using a knee roller which I called my motorcycle, and now am in a walking boot although I am still not able to do stairs.  I am just so excited to be able to walk again! Mrs. Gallhager needs to stay home with her two young boys and so starting Monday,  I  will have Mrs. Donnally until  the end of the month to help with transitions.

Walking boot.
