I grew up in St. Louis going to St. Joseph's Academy for high school. At the University of Missouri-Columbia, I earned a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and then was employed by the Jefferson City Public Schools where I taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Fourth Grade and Fifth Grade. When my children were little, I was a stay-at-home mom and taught preschool. Since moving back to St. Louis and being at the School District of Clayton, I earned a Master's in Reading from Webster University and a Specialist degree from Lindenwood University in Teacher Leadership with an emphasis in Literacy.
This is my eleventh year at Captain Elementary, and my eighteenth year of teaching elementary age children. My family and I live in Webster Groves. My two daughters are at Clayton Schools. Anne is a sophomore at Clayton High School and Carolyn is an eighth grader at Wydown Middle School. My husband, Peter, works for the Environmental Law Clinic at Washington University. We have a family dog, Rosie. She is a small, white fluffy, Shih-tzu/Bichon Frise mix.
